A Weekend of Yoga with Jules: Effort, Grace & The Art of Assisting

We are so happy to announce that Jules will come back to town for a whole Jivamukti-Weekend.

This weekend is for long-time practitioners and teachers who want to refine their personal practice, deepen their teaching, and explore a dynamic approach to assisting.

Rooted in the Jivamukti tradition, the weekend will balance strong, intentional asana practice with a hands-on workshop that reimagines the role of the assist—not as an imposition of form but as a collaborative dance of movement and space.

The assist workshops will explore key principles, beginning with establishing the seat—understanding points of contact with the earth as the foundation of any assist. From there, we will move beyond rigid structures, learning to step into space with presence, sensitivity, and fluidity. Instead of forcing an idealized alignment, we will cultivate an approach that supports, enhances, and invites students into deeper embodiment.

Each session is designed to offer both inspiration and practical tools for practitioners and teachers alike.

Schedule

Saturday, May 17
9:30-11:30 AMJivamukti Āsana Class: Effort and Grace
A strong, rhythmic class exploring the interplay of discipline and surrender—balancing precision with ease, strength with fluidity.

Fundamental principles of assisting: establishing the seat, entering space with awareness, and making assists a conversation rather than a correction.

Sunday, May 18
9:30-11:30 AMJivamukti Āsana Class: See It, Drop It
A deep and introspective class focused on seeing through conditioned patterns—both in the body and the mind—and learning to release unnecessary effort.

Building on the previous session, we'll refine our assists to create seamless, intuitive interactions that support students in finding greater depth and ease in their practice.

This weekend is an opportunity to expand your understanding of asana, refine your touch as a teacher, and immerse yourself in a weekend of movement, exploration, and connection.
